Trying to Make Do With Less

March 9, 2016March 9, 2016Site Admin

“Some, attempting to be inclusive, grab everything they can and claim it for their sphere of interest, theory, whatever. But I prefer this other tactic: to gradually and constantly reduce what I say so there are fewer and fewer restrictions, as if reducing body to skeleton and then on. I don’t know how far I’ve gone in the process of reduction, of moving towards an essence (which may not be there). I just keep trying to make it simpler, involve less, say less. The ultimate result will be when I say nothing at all about nothing at all and end up endlessly [..] in the Zen space of nondifferentiation [..]. I’m not there yet.”
